COURSE DETAILS
This hands-on workshop was created to provide you with a well-rounded understanding of DSLR operation, lenses, image composition, and camera construction. Thanks to a small class size and seasoned instructor with years of professional photography experience, you’re guaranteed hands-on time with your camera. Over the course of the day we’ll cover five crucial topics, including:
STEP #1. OPENING THE APERTURE
We’ll be taking a look at different kinds of lenses and what each does for you, and your photos. You’ll learn how to get those dreamy out-of-focus shots, and the razor-sharp in-focus landscapes you’ve been trying to get.
STEP #2. CONTROLLING SHUTTER SPEED
You’ll learn how to control time and motion with your camera body. We’ll be covering shutter speeds and all they help you accomplish in your visual message. We’ll also be showing you how to avoid the pitfalls of poorly chosen shutter speed.
STEP #3. WORKING WITH ISO AND WHITE BALANCE
You’ll learn what these letters stand for, and why they are such an important part of taking beautiful photos. We’ll be covering how your white balance can make or break your image, and how you can tame it.
STEP #4. MASTERING NATURAL LIGHTING AND FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY
You’ll learn when and how to use the flash without rendering your subjects blind or ruining photos. You’ll also learn special techniques to make the flash work for you in all sorts of lighting conditions.
STEP #5. TAKING A TOUR OF YOUR CAMERA SETTINGS
Do you suffer from acronym-itis when trying to navigate your camera settings? We’ll dispel all of the confusion by reviewing all of the typical settings found on DSLRs, and will examine your camera if you’re unable to find a particular feature. You’ll also learn how to best use these settings in concert with one another when working within ranged settings from bright daylight to nighttime photography.
