Have you invested in the latest photo editing software, but are still unhappy with your results ?  Join professional photographer Meghan Ralston in a fun and educational workshop which will teach you to the post-processing and photo editing skills. It is highly encouraged that you bring your laptop.

All attendees will receive:

  • World class instruction in a professional photography studio.
  • A lesson custom made for you and your computer/camera setup.
  • Small classes (maximum group size is 4 people) assures plenty of one-on-one help and guidance by a professional photographer.
  • Hands-on computer experience in a professional photography studio.
  • Learn the basics of iPhoto, Aperture, Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
  • Hands-on help with image editing software, including on-site troubleshooting.
  • Cool tools and techniques to make the most of your photo in the digital world.

COURSE DETAILS

This hands-on workshop was created to provide you with an advanced understanding of using and flash and studio lighting. Over the course of the day we’ll cover five crucial topics, including:

STEP #1. BASIC FILE CARE

Learn how to never loose a digital photo ever again. We’ll also show you how to make your photos easy to find and even easier to share.

STEP #2. METADATA

You’ll learn how to use metadata to embed your contact and copyright information into your photographs. You’ll also learn how to embed keywords and more to make your photos easier to find on the web and searchable online galleries like Flickr and SmugMug.

STEP #3. COMPUTER SOFTWARE COMPARISON

We’ll go over the differences between the major photo editing software suites; iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, and Photoshop. You’ll learn the pros and cons of each, as well as how to use the basic functions of each program. If you don’t have any editing software yet, we’ll help you figure out which would be best for you and then we’ll show you how to run that program on our systems.

STEP #4. BASIC EDITING

We’ll show you how a few basic adjustments to your digital photos will make a big difference in your results. We’ll teach you all about exposure, brightness, white balance, as well as special techniques like burning and dodging.

STEP #5. PHOTOSHOP MAGIC

We’ll teach you a few advanced tips and tricks to make the most out of Adobe Photoshop. We’ll show you ways to remove parts of your photo, resize your images for the web, and a variety of other time-saving skills.
